Hey! I'm Ryan and I'm a sophomore in the college studying cognitive science (neuroscience concentration) and philosophy. My passion for research ignited in high school (shoutout Mr. Tesar!) with an interest in developmental psychology, with my projects and questions landing me my first Penn research assistantship at the EDEN Lab! Throughout my freshman year at Penn, I refined my academic interests to behavioral neuroscience, specifically in the neural circuitry behind normal and abnormal behaviors. Following this spark, I sought out a research assistantship in the Fuccillo Lab, which optogenetically defines members of neural circuits in the basal ganglia. Outside of the lab, I'm extending my interest in neuroscience as an e-board member of Penn Neuroscience Society! I'm a huge rock climber (shoutout Penn Climbing Club), (failed) baker, and F1 enthusiast. You can reach out about narrowing your research interests, cold emailing, hearing my story, and/or anything Penn-related! Please don't hesitate to ask questions (they help me too)!
