Terry B. Heled Travel & Research Grant
The winner of the Terry B. Heled Travel & Research Grant will receive $2,000 toward the costs of travel for research that will lead to a significant writing project. The travel and research will be conducted during the summer (between mid-May and the end of August). Candidates who propose a trip of longer rather than shorter duration will be given priority, and candidates who propose to travel beyond North America will also get priority, but any travel plan—to any place, of any length—will receive serious consideration based on the quality of the project.
Leonard Davis Institute Summer Undergraduate Minority Research Institute

Seltzer Family Digital Media Awards
Deadline: 04/15/2024 (Tentative)Thanks to the generosity of Jeff Seltzer W’78 and his wife Annie, the Penn Libraries is proud to offer digital media project awards for up to five students. Each award will provide to $1,000 for the purchase of hardware or technology (with nominal spending on software and supplies). Funds cannot be used for other purposes such as travel. Students will have exclusive use of the purchased items for one year, after which time the items will return to the Weigle Information Commons for general use. These awards include special consideration for students enrolled in the Huntsman Program. Examples of technology items purchased by previous award winners include: video cameras, audio recorders, virtual reality camera peripherals, microphones, scanners, video lighting and mobile devices. Previous winners have created video documentaries, compiled audio interviews, and conducted qualitative research projects.
Rose Award
Deadline: 03/26/2024 (Tentative)The Rose Foundation generously funds the Rose Undergraduate Research Award recognizing outstanding undergraduate research projects completed by graduating seniors under the supervision of a Penn faculty member. The Rose Fund is administered by the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships, and awards are determined each April on a competitive basis. Seniors graduating in the Spring semester from any undergraduate school are eligible. Applicants must be in good standing in the University of Pennsylvania community. Ten student research projects will be recognized each year with individual awards of $1000.
Pincus-Magaziner Family Undergraduate Research Fund
Deadline: 10/22/20232nd or 3rd year students majoring in Art History, English, Literature, Biology, Mathematics, or Neuroscience are eligible to apply for research and travel support from Pincus-Magaziner funding each Fall and Spring semester through the College Alumni Society Research Grant program.
Penn Undergraduate Urban Research Colloquium

Deadline: 02/19/2024 (Tentative)Each year Penn supports undergraduate involvement in faculty research through the Penn Undergraduate Research Mentoring Program (PURM), which provides students completing their first or second undergraduate year the opportunity to spend a summer conducting research with a standing Penn faculty member.
