Fellowships are funding opportunities for Penn students and alumni to earn a graduate degree, conduct research, or engage in service in the US or abroad. Learn the basics about opportunities such as the Rhodes Scholarship, Marshall Scholarship, Gates Cambridge Scholarship, Thouron Award, Fulbright Award, and many other fellowships, how you can position yourself as a strong candidate, and how CURF can help you through the application process. Students in all fields and all years as well as alumni/ae are encouraged to attend.
To get the most out of this session, attendees should:
- enroll in CURF's Fellowship Resources canvas site to familiarize yourself with how to put forward your strongest application
- search CURF's Fellowships Directory and follow the links to websites of fellowships that interest you
- if you're interested in graduate study in the UK, use the UK government's Research Excellence Framework 2021 ranking of UK graduate programs (ranked by UK faculty) to identify the strongest and most appropriate UK graduate degree programs in your fields of interest
If you are considering applying for a fellowship such as the Rhodes, Marshall, Gates, or Thouron this year (to begin a fellowship in Fall 2026), please complete and submit Penn's Spring Fellowships Consultation form no later than Friday, May 30, 2025.
