Gelfman International Summer Fund

The Gelfman International Summer Fund has been established by Robert W. Gelfman (Wharton ’53) to create opportunities for personally enriching international research and/or service for students in the summer between their junior and senior year. The Fund is expected to cover two or three students each summer. Penn juniors from any of Penn’s undergraduate schools and in any discipline are eligible.

Schwarzman Scholarship

Provides a fully-funded one-year Master's degree in Global Affairs at Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing designed to prepare future leaders for success in a world where China plays a key global role. Chinese language proficiency is NOT required

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

Deadline: 10/07/2025

Fulbright Grants fund 8-12 months of international experience in over 140 countries. The program is open to US citizens from all academic disciplines.

Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship

Deadline: 01/10/2026 (Tentative)

The Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship is designed to encourage the study of less commonly taught languages by providing undergraduate and graduate recipients with a stipend and funding to take courses in South Asian Language and Area Studies for either a full year or as part as a summer intensive language program.

The Voyager Scholarship: Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service

A two-year leadership development program that supports students who have a passion for helping others.

Paul and Kathleen Barthmaier Award

Financial support to assist with travel expenses related to intellectually enriching undergraduate research or fellowship experiences.

Hassenfeld Foundation Social Impact Grant

The Hassenfeld Foundation Social Impact Grant has been established to provide support to students who are undertaking innovative social impact projects with potential for real-world outcomes. Grants will be awarded up to $5,000 depending on the needs of the project.

Blossom Hill Fellowship

Funds innovative ideas to help children and youth anywhere in the world affected by conflict in the Middle East.

Mongolia Field School Program

Deadline: 03/14/2026 (Tentative)

The Mongolia Field School Program offers an educational travel experience blending academic insights and discussions with travel experiences that allow participants to interact with local people and locations off the usual tourist track.

Jewish Studies Administered Research Awards

Each fall and spring the Jewish Studies Program offers Goldfein Research Awards, Brenner Special Opportunity Awards, and Schwartz Awards to both undergraduate and graduate Penn students to cover research projects and study programs in or related to Jewish studies.
