Below is a list of Fellowships that do not explicitly require US citizenship. Some may be open to applicants from any country, others are open to international students from selected countries, and some require applicants to be either US Permanent Residents or be in the process of seeking to remain in the US. See the eligibility requirements of each program. Fellowships staff are happy to assist you in applying to any of these opportunities.

Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship
Deadline: 12/15/2024 (Tentative)Provides three years of support for full-time PhD study to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students
Emerson National Hunger Fellows
Deadline: 01/12/2025 (Tentative)The Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellows Program participants gain field experience fighting hunger and poverty through placements in community based organizations across the country, and policy experience through placements in Washington, DC.
Coro Fellowship
Deadline: 01/13/2025 (Tentative)The Coro Fellows Program develops emerging leaders by providing hands-on experience for recent college graduates working with urban institutions in one of five US cities (Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, or St. Louis).
Urban Fellows Program
Deadline: 01/15/2025 (Tentative)The Urban Fellows Program is a nine-month fellowship in New York City that combines work in Mayoral offices and City agencies with volunteer service opportunities and a seminar series that explores current urban issues impacting public policy.
Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship

Humanity in Action Fellowship
Deadline: 02/04/2025 (Tentative)Fellows first participate in an intensive three-week summer educational program providing a country and context-specific curriculum (currently: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, the Netherlands, or Poland) that examines historical and contemporary challenges to human rights, pluralism and equality. Then, they embark on developing Action Projects in their own communities.
Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship in South Asian Languages (Tentative Deadline)

AIF Banyan Impact Fellowship (formerly AIF Clinton Fellowship for Service in India)
Deadline: 02/20/2025 (Tentative)The Fellowship pairs a select number of highly skilled young professionals with leading NGOs and social enterprises in India in order to accelerate impact and create effective projects that are replicable, scalable, and sustainable. Through ten months of service and fieldwork, Fellows gain knowledge of development on the ground in the fields of education, livelihoods, public health, and social enterprise, honing and harnessing their growing skills as change agents capable of effecting lasting change.
