My research interests focus on degenerative disc disease and its pathophysiology, as well as how new alternative treatments (tissue engineered therapeutics, spinal loading via physical activity) may be able to reverse the course of disease.
Currently, I am an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Gullbrand Laboratory, part of the Perelman McKay Orthopaedic Research Laboratory and Translational Musculoskeletal Research Center at the CMCVAMC. The Gullbrand Lab studies the structure and function of the spine, and how that contributes to degenerative disc disease.
Extracurricularly, I am involved in the Penn Beekeeping Club, Penn Women's Club Rugby, Medical Volunteers for Prevention (MVP), and Kidney Screening Disease and Awareness Program (KDSAP).

I am interested in research at the intersection of computer science and pediatric disease and have spent my first year at Penn exploring both fields. This summer, I have been primarily working as a wet lab research assistant in the Wolpaw Lab at CHOP, in which I help create and assess 3D models for neuroblastoma. I am also part of the Shen Lab, where I have been exploring the use of AI for computational drug discovery. I am excited to merge the skills I gain from both experiences in my own independent project.
Outside of research, I am part of a variety of student organizations, including the Asian Pacific American Pre-Medical Student Association, Service Link, the Brain Exercise Initiative, and Penn Chamber. I am also a College Peer Advisor and love meeting new people and talking to them about research!

I'm broadly interested in judgment and decision-making, particularly within medical contexts. I'm fascinated by how different participants in medical processes interact with information and how the surrounding systems influence their decisions. Currently, I’m conducting independent research under Dr. James Won and Dr. Ethan Larsen at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Our study uses eye-tracking technology to analyze the visual scan patterns of radiologists as they interpret medical images. We aim to identify areas within images or workflows that consistently attract or divert attention, potentially leading to cognitive overload or lapses in focus that could impact diagnostic accuracy. Outside of research, I’m passionate about mental health advocacy and serve as the chair of finance for the Penn Wellness Student Coalition. For fun, I enjoy going to classical concerts and Broadway musicals, and I’m currently learning the art of brewing a perfect cup of coffee.

I am passionate about exploring how science can directly improve lives, whether through understanding brain function or enhancing healthcare access. As a Research Assistant in the Eisch Lab, I have been investigating the intricate cell circuitry in a mouse model of Dravet Syndrome, a pediatric epileptic disorder. With the support of UScholars, I spent this past summer deepening my research, which also included developing a machine learning model to study psychosocial stress behaviors in mice. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to research that bridges the gap between fundamental science and real-world applications.
My interest in applying science to improve healthcare also led me to spend the summer of 2023 in Madurai, India, where I conducted a study on eHealth readiness at Aravind Eye Care Systems. Supported by the Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI), this experience allowed me to see firsthand the challenges and opportunities in implementing digital health solutions in low-resource settings.
I've also been fortunate to connect with the broader Penn and Philadelphia community outside the lab. I’ve participated in Penn Dance and Penn Chamber, volunteered at CHOP, served as a Research Peer Advisor, and advised the College Dean as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board (DAB).
