Journey of Discovery
Melody Cheng ('25), a Neuroscience major and CURF Research Peer Advisor, conducted research on epilepsy, a chronic disorder that causes recurrent seizures as a result of abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Melody was mentored by Dr. Ethan Goldberg (Departments of Neurology and Neuroscience), and this research was funded by the College Alumni Society Undergraduate Research Grant.
Traveling to Germany for History Research
Caleb Crain ('25), a History major, researched how soccer influenced the political and cultural landscape in Germany from 1933 to 1954 under the mentorship of Dr. Anne Berg (Department of History) and through the support of the Gelfman International Summer Fund.

Jiamin Chen ('26), a Psychology major, conducted research on how high-fat diets impact metabolic health under the mentorship of Dr. Damaris Lorenzo (Department of Cell and Developmental Biology) through the Penn Undergraduate Research Mentoring Program.
When Robots Dive into Forests: Exploring Autonomous Systems in Natural Environments
Siming He ('25), a Computer Science and Statistics double major, conducted research on the use of autonomous robots to better understand forest ecosystems under the mentorship of Dr. Pratik Chaudhari (Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering) and Dr. Vijay Kumar (Department Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics). This research was supported by the Vagelos Undergraduate Research Grant and Class of 1971 Robert J. Holtz Fund.
